When sending artwork to a print shop, all fonts need to be converted to outlines. If a font you are using isn’t owned by the print shop, their computer won’t recognize the font and will replace it with a default. Once the font is converted to outlines, it becomes a vector shape and is press ready.
Here is how it’s done.
In Adobe Illustrator:
Make sure the layers your fonts are on are unlocked.
Next go to Select > Select All
Everything is now selected. In the Menu go to Type> Create Outlines.
Congratulations! Your fonts are now outlined and ready for press. If you have any questions please leave us a comment.
