Alex Haug started Twin City Tees from nothing in 2005. Although Alex has no background in art and design, he appreciates those that do. Alex often jokes that if he didn’t have this t-shirt printing business, he’s not sure what he would be doing. One thing he is great at is assembling a skilled team of artists. Today if you walk into Twin City Tees it feels a bit like a hangout for artists who funnel their focus into screen printing.
As you enter through the front door, you will be greeted by Taelor (@taelor.paige). Taelor wields the phones and handles the customers at the shop. When Taelor isn’t taking care of business at Twin City Tees, she is working as a freelance designer. Her illustrations and designs are colorful, playful, and clever.
As you continue around the corner, you'll find yourself face-to-face with a rambunctious, bearded man who goes by Stanley Leonard (@stanley_leonard). Stan preps the artwork for the shop and oversees the production crew. On top of that, he is also an amazing woodcut artist, designer, and photographer. Stan’s woodcut prints are some of the best in the business. When he’s not at the shop, you can bet he is meticulously carving an amazing illustration into a solid block of wood for his next big print.
Continuing back toward the presses, you will see Rhia, wearing a hat she designed, as she keeps tabs on all the shirts whizzing by on the press. Rhia runs the show when it comes to production at Twin City Tees. Rhia is also the artist behind Rhialize (@rhia_lize), a clothing design company specializing in wild, abstract designs. Her shirts, hats, and accessories are unique and eye-catching. Once you see one of her designs, you will recognize her stuff everywhere.
Our newest member at Twin City Tees is still in college but, you guessed it, she’s an artist! Shelby (@tealshelby) loves working with her hands. She is a sculptor, but plays in most other mediums as well. If you love jewelry, Shelby also creates amazing handmade, clay bracelets.
Finally, the man behind the keyboard. My name is Dan McCreight and I can be found mostly behind the lens. I love photography and video production. I am in charge of all the social media and marketing here at Twin City Tees. When I’m not here at the shop, I’m usually outside in the dark shooting long exposure photographs under the name Stimulight the Night (@stimulightthenight).
Alex is always on the go, getting things done, and creating a fun place to work. At Twin City Tees, we are all grateful for the chance to work at a place that inspires us.
So there you have it - a bunch of artists working with Alex to make high-end prints in the middle of Saint Paul, Minnesota. Creativity and obsessive attention to detail is in abundance in the shop. It’s clear why we pride ourselves on quality and connecting with our customers.
Next time you are in the market for some high-quality screen printing, lookup Twin City Tees. We are excited to help you take your ideas and turn them into something you can truly enjoy wearing!
